Eligible for full funding

To qualify for these fully funded courses, you must be residing in Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian, Mid Lothian, Fife, or the Scottish Borders. You must also meet one or more of the following criteria: women returning to work or advancing in work, Black, Asian, or minority ethnic (BAME), living with a disability, unemployed or underemployed, or earning below £24K per annum.

Project Management with Data Analytics

This course is aimed at Data Citizens and Data Workers, offering skills in data analytics, data visualization, and project management. The course will be delivered face-to-face over three Saturdays, with each session starting at 10:00 AM and totaling 20 hours of instruction. The scheduled dates are 14th, 21st, and 28th September. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. A basic understanding of project management principles is required. This training will equip participants with the skills necessary to merge project management with data analytics, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions and drive project success.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this programme, learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of the importance of data analytics in project management and its current challenges in modern project environments.
- Gain a solid grasp of common principles, practices, and methods of project management, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing phases.
- Identify, analyze, propose, and evaluate data-driven interventions to enhance project success.
- Translate and clearly articulate project management concepts and strategies, incorporating data analytics, for various stakeholders and project teams.
- Lead and collaborate effectively with others to implement data-driven solutions, monitor project progress, and drive decision-making for successful project outcomes.

Fundamentals of Data Governance & AI Ethics

This course is designed for Data Citizens and Data Workers who seek an introduction to data management principles and ethical considerations in AI. The course will be delivered online through live instructor-led sessions over two Saturdays, with each session starting at 10:00 AM and totaling 16 hours of instruction. The scheduled dates are 21st September and 28th September. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. There are no prerequisites required, making this an introductory course suitable for beginners. This program will provide participants with a foundational understanding of Data Governance principles and ethical considerations in AI, essential for enhancing their professional capabilities in data-driven environments.
