This summer, DataKirk embarked on a transformative journey, one that brought the power of STEM, AI, and Robotics directly to young people across seven Scottish cities: Falkirk, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, Stirling, and Paisley.

Through hands-on innovation, teamwork, and critical thinking, we’ve witnessed over 100 brilliant young minds dive into the world of LEGO Spike Prime robotics, AI programming, biomimicry, problem-solving challenges, and so much more. Each stop along the way revealed a glimpse of Scotland’s bright digital future.

The students weren’t just learning they were thriving. From the Formula 1, inspired bots to the Escape Room Challenge, young participants in Fife, Elderslie, and beyond turned ideas into reality with passion and precision.

Falkirk, Igniting the Spark

We kicked off the tour in Falkirk, introducing youth to AI and robotics. Despite low ethnic minority representation in local STEM teaching roles (~1%), the energy and eagerness to learn were undeniable.

Aberdeen, Biomimicry to Bots

Across two dynamic days, teams like Copilot and Gemini created engineering portfolios and earned 100% satisfaction scores. Projects focused on logic, programming, and teamwork.

Stirling, STEM Has Come to Stay

In Stirling, we were met with exceptional interest and commitment. Young learners displayed an eagerness that proves STEM, AI, and Robotics have a permanent home in this community. The spirit, drive, and engagement were nothing short of inspiring.

Paisley & Elderslie, From Concept to Creation

From F1-inspired vehicles to Forklifts and Farm Trucks, students developed robots to meet real-world challenges like manoeuvrability, automation, and object transport. Their teamwork, time management, and ingenuity were remarkable.

Glasgow, STEM Meets City Life

In true "People Make Glasgow" spirit, our sessions were met with excitement and anticipation:

Fife, With the Vibe

At the Vine Conference Centre, 21 participants tackled Missions 1, 3, sparking creativity and forming strong team bonds. We’re thankful to local leaders like Ifeyinwa Dada and Olanrewaju Adesina for supporting youth STEM development in Fife.

Edinburgh, Closing on a High Note

Our final stop was inspiring. With a focus on digital empowerment and meta-skills, we aligned with the Scottish Government's strategy for growing data and AI capacity. Edinburgh was a fitting finale for a truly national programme.
