We are an Edinburgh based social enterprise founded in May 2019 with the aim to closing both the data divide and attainment gap in Scotland.
To build a literate community and promote self-sufficiency by providing learner-centered training in data literacy and analytics skills to young people and adults.
To work together towards empowering communities with data literacy and analytics skills.
Empowering underrepresented communities in Scotland with digital economy skills to close the data divide and attainment gap .
At Datakirk, We focus on fostering connections between diverse communities, organisations, and individuals, promoting inclusivity and understanding through collaboration and shared initiatives.
By creating opportunities for collaboration and dialogue, we aim to bridge gaps, promote inclusivity, and build a stronger, more connected society.
Our program dedicated to “Closing the Data & Attainment Gap” targets the disparities in data literacy and educational achievement. We provide tailored support, resources, and training to underrepresented groups, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the digital economy.
We develop and support a robust talent pipeline by providing training, mentorship, and career opportunities, ensuring a steady flow of skilled professionals ready to meet industry demands.
Through strategic training, mentorship, and placement opportunities, we prepare individuals to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to their industries.
A certified business analyst with over 5 years of experience. To transition from a process business analyst to a technical role, I lacked the required skills. Through Datakirk's data science program, I enhanced my proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, and Python, leading to multiple interview opportunities and increased confidence in coding. Datakirk provides hope for career changers, bridging the knowledge gap in data analysis.
With a background in Computer Science, I completed my B.Sc. at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Edinburgh, earning M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. I joined Public Health Scotland as an Information Analyst. Enrolling in the PDA in Data Science program in 2022, I expanded my skills and knowledge, which significantly contributed to my promotion to Senior Information Analyst. I highly recommend the PDA in Data Science course for its comprehensive training, diverse tutors, and focus on technical and soft skills. Thank you, Datakirk, for this valuable opportunity.
We are working to change the face of Scotland’s future talent pool by increasing the representation of disadvantaged groups in the data economy.
