- Created views and stored procedures to enhance database performance.
Data Analysis
The team analysed the Scottish Government’s Export Statistics Scotland. They:
- Imported datasets into tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or Python.
- Produced comprehensive reports in PDF format, with annotated screenshots explaining their calculations.
Data Visualisation
The team tackled a client brief involving pharmaceutical product formularies. They:
- Created a relational database from various data sheets.
- Developed a query to filter and extract client-specific data.
- Generated visualizations to answer key client questions about formulary updates and availability indexes.

Data Engineering
In the Scottish Housing News Analytics project, the team:
- Established a data repository using Microsoft Bing Search API and Azure Data Factory.
- Transformed raw data into structured formats using Spark Notebooks in Synapse Data Engineering.
- Performed sentiment analysis and created Power BI dashboards for data visualisation.
Machine Learning
The team built machine learning models using datasets like Customers, Iris, Wine, Titanic, and MNIST. They:
- Used Python packages such as pandas, matplotlib, and scikit-learn.
- Serialized models for deployment and set up environments using cloud platforms or containerization tools.
- Deployed models as RESTful APIs or within containerized environments and also through Azure.
