We are thrilled to announce that DataKirk has been selected to participate in the INCLUDE+ project by YouthLink Scotland. This significant initiative is part of a five-year programme (2022-2027) aimed at fostering social and digital environments where all individuals can thrive.
About INCLUDE+
INCLUDE+ is a dynamic network dedicated to exploring how social and digital environments can be built, shaped, and sustained to promote inclusivity and empowerment. The programme seeks to create a robust knowledge community around inequalities in the digital society. This community will bring together industry professionals, academics, and members of the public and third sectors to address the UKRI Equitable Digital Society theme.
Project Aim
The primary goal of this project is to empower young people who are impacted by digital exclusion. By developing their digital skills and critical thinking abilities, we aim to prepare them for success in an increasingly digitalised world.
Youth Participation and Co-Creation
One of the most exciting aspects of the INCLUDE+ project is the direct involvement of young people in the co-creation of activities. Participants will work closely with a youth worker and a “technologist in residence” to shape the programme to best meet their needs and interests.
Focus Areas
The INCLUDE+ project will cover a wide range of topics to ensure comprehensive digital literacy and empowerment. Potential focus areas include:
- General digital literacy
- Understanding and utilizing AI
- Combating misinformation
- Digital skills for employment and entrepreneurship
- Coding and games development
- Understanding and using data
- CAD and 3D printing
